Fast-forward a few months into my pregnancy and I began thinking about diapers for my budding sprout. I decided I would give cloth diapering a go because of those cute cloth diapers we learned about. So, I began researching my options. Holy Moly! There is a whole movement behind diapering (no pun intended). I had no idea how much of my brain could be consumed with diapers: Fuzzi bunz, Bum Genius, Happy Heinys, Bag Shot Row, Fitteds, Covers, Pre-folds, bleached, hemp, woolies! Oh my. It's enough to make a new-mama's head spin.

It was Chris' turn to help the nurse, since I did it during his 2 month check up. He said he felt Bren's whole body reverberate with the shot. Horrible. Bren turned bright red and screamed. Horrible. You want to protect your children from all pain, but some pain is required to make it through this world.

Okay, so you aren't always holding and carrying the baby. No matter how much you want to. You have to put him down sometimes (like for showering and eating). And when he's really little, it's nice to have somewhere to put him that can: a.) Be moved from room to room. b.) Keep a fussy baby soothed.

Wearing Bren

We really like carrying Bren. We live upstairs so getting a stroller in and out of the house is pretty hairy. And we're fairly attached parents and like having him nestled right up next to us when we are out and about.

I wasn't always such a blanket groupie. Initially, I was completely befuddled by the number of blankets we received for Bren. At the time, I thought "Really? How many blankets does one baby need!?" Now, I know better.
