Chris helped me drive down to Texas a week ago. We had a great time on the road despite some initial course corrections. He left on Wednesday and now I am spending the next couple of weeks finalizing all the details. I have some amazing vendors. I will write a post about them soon. For now here is a timeline of our road trip with some photos.
6:34 AM Mar 5th: I wanted to sleep in, but woke up promptly at 6 am.
6:43 AM Mar 5th: Gueny is glad I’m awake. She must be excited about our road trip too
9:14 AM Mar 5th: Packing up the car and heading for Texas y’all.
10:01 AM Mar 5th: And so we are off–10 miles down, 2554 left.
11:12 AM Mar 5th: Bob loves traveling. I think she has more space than we do.
12:05 AM Mar 5th: Gueny likes to co-pilot.

1:59 AM Mar 5th: Snow on Snoqualmie pass. 100 miles done.
2:05 AM Mar 5th: Snoqualmie pass is shut down due to bad weather. Back tracking now to find an alternate route.
2:33 AM Mar 5th: Re-routing through Portland, adding about 150 extra miles. Fingers crossed no more obstacles.
3:31 PM Mar 5th: Yay! Blue skies after miles and miles of rain. “Life has no limit if you’re not afraid to get in it.” Tunes are good.
4:40 PM Mar 5th: Portland! 305 miles done. Now we head towards Boise.
5:00 PM Mar 5th: Oops. Poor navigation almost sent us to downtown Portland, during rush hour. Caught it soon enough but still stuck in traffic going 20 mph.
5:55 PM Mar 5th: Winter storm blocks our route once again. Regrouping and taking the long way through Cali.Spirits are high.
11:30 PM Mar 5th: They left the light on for us. We are done for the night. Tomorrow California.
9:29 AM Mar 6th: Rested & fueled & ready to go. Hope to make Tucson 1171 miles away.
2:49 AM Mar 6th: Amazing day. Driving past pink blossoming apple orchards in northern Cali. There ain’t nothing but big ole hearts dancing in our eyes.
6:35 PM Mar 6th: A beautiful sunset to end a lovely day. Not as many updates today because it’s going so smoothly. And we’ll keep going a bit.
11:28 PM Mar 6th: Done for the night. We considered being all hard-core and driving all night. But decided to take the slow road and stop in San Bernardino.
9:16 AM Mar 7th: California is crowded. We’re leaving. 1500 miles to go.
12:28 PM Mar 7th: Hello Arizona! The ipod shuffle has been good to us today with some Cash, Keen, and Dar. Drive on.
10:48 PM Mar 7th: Finally crossed the border into Texas. Only 1 more day of driving left until reaching my hometown.
9:10 PM Mar 8th: Arrived safe and sound (mostly) after 4 days on the road. Despite setbacks and rerouting, a great trip with miles of good conversation.
