Put a Wiggle in Your Step

Thanks everyone for the ideas and encouragement. I think I will still try to have the crawfish. I’ve decided I need to take a step back from the details and focus on the location and guest list. I was going a little OCD on the details—like a leaky roof with no more buckets to catch the thoughts. So, getting into the process means making important decisions like who and where before what and how.

Regardless, I am listening to some good music I’d like to play at the wedding—Willie Nelson’s Songbird is on now. Groovy. It’s helping my mood today, which the weather is not. It’s like cold, raining and ick—where is the glory of spring we had only a few short weeks ago?

I’ve been doing a lot of dancing this week. I’m performing again on Saturday in Mt. Vernon and heading down to Clinton for a workshop with Kate Pitroff on Sunday. All this dancing is really helping to keep my funky mood at bay. It’s really hard not to smile after about 5 minutes of shimmy.

Try it–you’ll find it’s true. Plant your feet, bend your knees a little then alternate your knees slightly, forward and back, and shift your hips with each knee bend. Good. Got it? Now go a little faster. Faster still. Faster! Make everything jiggle. The more you jiggle the more you giggle.
