This Week from Around the Net

Here are some items I want to share with you this week.

Fourty-two Speculations Interesting article on what other people think Douglas Adams meant and in the comments someone even has Adams answer to the question from beyond the grave. I find a lot of peace and enlightenment in the answer, regardless of interpretation. 42, ohmmmmm.

For seven and a half million years, this stupendously powerful, office-block of a machine had whirred. When it came to announcing what it had discovered, crowds had quite understandably gathered. “You aren’t going to like it,” Deep Thought warned. “Forty-two,” it said, with infinite majesty and calm.

Good News for the Vertically Challenged The benefits of being short do not include being in the back at a concert, or in the middle of a big crowd. Nor do they include maximizing the use of the top shelf. It does seem however there is evidence that it does include living longer.

“Then we would say, ‘Come on, tell us the real reason. Maybe you ate yogurt all your life.’ But hundreds of cases later, we didn’t have any yogurt-eaters. We didn’t have any athletes. Twenty percent of our subjects had smoked for decades. We had one woman who was 105 and had smoked for 90 years. As a population, this group was doing exactly what we tell our patients not to do.” Clearly, then, for the centenarians, the secret to long life wasn’t lifestyle—it was being born with the right genes.

This One’s For My Mom Finally, a way to combine your love of all things technology, with your love of clay.

This One’s For My Friend Liz Did your parents torture you as a child by enforcing this kind of strict color bias?

korean artist jeongmee yoon’s ‘pink and blue project’ was inspired by her daughter. she would only wear pink and buy pink toys. she found this to be a common theme in korea, the us and around the world. when photographing girl’s in their world of pink, she realized that boys shared the same phenomenon except in a different hue: blue. the objects are arranged in the child’s room and photographed in a square format. jeongmee yoon was born in seoul and lives in new york.

This One’s for My Sweetness Perhaps someday if we ever have to change up the office (don’t worry I’m not trying to redecorate!), this type of solution would work for us?

Even better look underneath!

Write-In Ron Paul Don’t let the establishment tell you who you can vote for.
The 1st rule is vote. VOTE!
The 2nd rule is vote for your choice. YOUR CHOICE!
The 3rd rule is ignore the people telling you the choice is between two parties. BUCK TWO PARTIES!
The 4th rule is remember you always have a voice. WRITE-IN RON PAUL!

Also, see his video message below and a music video in support of Ron Paul.

Float On My Friends, Float On An old-skool blogger, Halcyon with his Belief Buffet message about transparency.

That’s all for this week. I hope you found some inspiration, some happiness or just some ways to procrastinate on your Friday afternoon.
